From working student to Managing Director in five years, Alex’ career journey is a remarkable example of how talent, dedication, and a willingness to embrace new challenges can create unexpected opportunities for growth.
As Managing Director of CCL Design Solingen since October 2024, Alex is responsible for leading the site’s strategic direction, driving organisational development, and supporting the long-term success of the business.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics at the University of Wuppertal and working for a tax agency, Alex decided to return to university to study Social Sciences, History and Applied Philosophy with the ambition of becoming a teacher. Alongside his studies he began working for a supplier of CCL Design.
That connection ultimately led him to CCL Design Solingen, where he joined the Quality Assurance department as a working student in 2019. What began as a part-time role soon evolved into an extraordinary career journey. Over the next five years, Alex progressed from working student to Controller, Interim General Manager Metals & Films, and finally Managing Director, leading the entire Solingen operation by October 2024.
When asked about the highlight of his career so far, Alex points to the progress achieved alongside the Solingen team. One particularly memorable moment came during an end-of-year meeting, where he had the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the organisation. For Alex, it was a proud moment that reflected the dedication, resilience, and commitment of the team and reinforced the value of working towards shared goals together.
His favourite project at CCL Design is the ongoing transformation of the Solingen operation. With a strong interest in organisational design, Alex enjoys creating structures and processes that enable both people and the business to grow sustainably.
What motivates Alex is the opportunity to develop the organisation together with the team. He values independence, embraces challenges, and is driven by the conviction that everyone can contribute to growth and success. These principles continue to influence his leadership approach and the way he supports the future development of the Solingen site.
